PRINCE WILLIAM has “refused to take anymore nonsense” over the Megxit drama, amid suggestions that the Duke of Cambridge is “much tougher behind the scenes than previously thought”. Prince William has been “very, very firm” on pushing back against Prince Harry and Meghan Markle behind the scenes, according to a royal expert. The Mail on Sunday’s diarist Charlotte Griffiths noted that there is a “new picture emerging that William is much tougher in this situation than we previously thought”.This comes amid an ongoing rift between the two brothers.

She told Palace Confidential on MailPlus that William was no longer “taking anymore nonsense from the couple”. Ms Griffiths continued: “Most people thought the main blame for the fall-out was not Meghan, but instead the brothers themselves. “A new picture is emerging that William is much tougher in this situation than we previously thought. “He is very, very firm. He was much tougher behind the scenes very early on.

This comes after programme producers for ITV’s new documentary ‘Harry and William: What Went Wrong?’ had to make last-minute changes after a claim about William leaking negative stories about his brother’s mental health were refuted by the Duke of Cambridge. Host Jo Elvin said: “It is another sign that William is keen to correct what he sees as untruths.”

The Mail’s Royal Editor Rebecca English added: “We are not going to be seeing William complain about any article or programme. “But what is clear is that there is a line in the sand for him. “The suggestion that he had briefed about his brother and mental health issues was just a step too far for him.”

Ms Griffiths said the new ITV documentary exposes the tough line taken by William in the face of resistance from Harry. The ITV documentary explores the deterioration of Prince Harry and Prince William’s relationship. The brothers have endured a strained relationship since the autumn of 2018 when they split their royal households.

Royal Expert claims that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry 'won't last'

Royal author Duncan Larcombe has recently claimed that William is “dreading” Harry and Meghan’s next move amid reports that the couple are planning to become “influencers”. Prince Harry told Oprah Winfrey that he and William were on “different paths” and characterised their relationship as “space”. The couple criticised the Royal Family for their lack of support over Meghan’s struggle with mental health and claimed that Buckingham Palace was unsupportive in handling media intrusion.

They said that the Palace refused to correct damaging tabloid articles that were regularly circulated about the Duchess, leaving Meghan to feel unsupported and vilified by the press.
