Vampire Diaries star cast in Big Sky season 2

Big Sky season 2 has announced a host of new cast members, with The Vampire Diaries star Michael Malarkey among the additions.

The star, who played Enzo on the hit show between seasons 5 and 8, will take on the role of Deputy Harvey in the ABC crime thriller, who is described as a pompous and self-assured cop (via Deadline).

Harvey sells his loyalty to the highest bidder and wears the badge to protect and serve himself – though he becomes increasingly desperate and unhinged as he gets into hot water with a criminal organisation.

Also on board for the next season in recurring roles are Vinny Chhibber (Animal Kingdom), Romy Rosemont (Beyond), Patrick Gallagher (Twilight Zone), Ryan O’Nan (Fargo) and David Meunier (Justified).

Season 2 of Big Sky will see Cassie Dewell (Kylie Bunbury) and Jenny Hoyt (Katheryn Winnick) reunite as they investigate a car wreck outside Helena, Montana, quickly discovering that the case isn’t as straightforward as it seems.

Their world then begin to collide with unsuspecting teens, a flirtatious face from Jenny’s past as well as a vicious outsider who is hell-bent on finding answers.

The new episodes will also see the return of one actor from season one, despite their character being killed off last time around. However, a recent teaser suggested they may actually be playing a different role.

However, two stars that won’t be back are Britt Robertson and Michelle Forbes, who played Cheyenne and Margaret Kleinsasser, respectively, despite both having key roles in the first season.
