Prince Charles Met a Horse Named Prince George

During his recent visit to Wales, Prince Charles spent time with Prince George—a horse named Prince George, that is. The Prince of Wales had traveled to Nevern, Pembrokeshire to learn about the restoration of a local parish’s church bells, which rang on Thursday for the first time in 120 years.

While he was there, he met a 5-year-old horse who shares his grandson’s name.

“It’s so wonderful of you. Thank you so much for bringing him,” said Prince Charles told Prince George’s owner John Fletcher, per People.

According to the magazine, they also discussed breeding, and how “the farm’s mares go to a stud in North Wales.” “That must be very exciting,” Charles said.

No word on if the horse was specifically named after Prince William and Kate’s eldest son.

The real life Prince George, on the other hand, has been busy lately, making public appearances alongside his parents at two recent soccer matches.

In late June, George proved to be a good luck charm for team England, when they played Germany at Wembley stadium. But the young royal was disappointed yesterday, when England lost in a brutal round of penalty kicks to Italy in the European Championship final.

In a tweet, Prince William shared that the loss was “heartbreaking.”

“Heartbreaking. Congratulations @Azzurri on a great victory,” he wrote. “@England, you’ve all come so far, but sadly this time it wasn’t our day. You can all hold your heads high, and be so proud of yourselves — I know there’s more to come.
