Whoopi Goldberg quip about Kate Middleton appearance: ‘Look at her face, she knows!’-check.

WHOOPI GOLDBERG marvelled at Kate Middleton’s post-natal appearance on her show The View, as the panel looked at photographs of the Duchess after Prince Louis’ birth. The second season of Star Trek: Picard, starring Ms Goldberg, premieres today on Paramount+. The new episodes see Picard, played by veteran British actor Sir Patrick Stewart, travel back to the 21st century in the hope of saving the galaxy’s future. Picking up 30 years after the events of The Next Generation, the show sees the return of Brent Spiner, Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis.

During an appearance on Ms Goldberg’s talk show, The View, Sir Patrick also personally invited the comedian to return for the Star Trek spin-off, an offer the host accepted. In turn, Ms Goldberg reprises her role as Guinan in Star Trek: Picard. The outspoken Oscar-winning actor is well known for her quick quips and occasionally controversial opinions while presenting her daytime talk show The View.

Once on the show, Ms Goldberg caused controversy by mocking the Duchess of Cambridge’s appearance just hours after she had given birth to Louis. As is tradition, Kate showed off the Royal Family’s newest member outside the Lindo wing of London’s St Mary’s Hospital in April 2018.

However, Ms Goldberg remarked that “you could see in her face” that she wanted to “get the hell out of there” as she stood being snapped by members of the world media.

When it emerged that Kate had given birth just two hours before the pictures were taken, Ms Goldberg said: “Kate Middleton had a baby boy yesterday and a lot of people lost their minds when she walked out of hospital after giving birth [and] looked like this…”

A picture of Kate smiling alongside Prince William while cradling a baby Louis was then shown to a chorus of laughter.Another panellist also took a sly dig at Kate, noting the future Queen consort’s high heels and sarcastically stating that the Duchess of Cambridge, was “just like us” after giving birth.

A second guest continued: “Still she had to walk, my crotch was on fire after I gave birth. My God.” US television host Sunny Hostin also joked: “I had two C-sections, like 21 percent of the country and I didn’t even look like that laying down in the bed.”

In response, Ms Goldberg quipped: “If you look at her face she knows, ‘I have to pose here for a few minutes and then I’m walking to the car and I’m getting the hell out of here.’” Despite Ms Goldberg’s panel taking aim at Kate, the Duchess proved just weeks after Louis’ birth that she was not afraid to make a joke of her own about her newborn.

During Louis’ christening the Archbishop of Canterbury told Kate that the youngster looked “very relaxed and peaceful”. The Duchess reportedly replied: “Let’s hope he stays like this.”

Meanwhile, Ms Goldberg is friends with Kate’s brother-in-law Prince Harry, and shut down an anti-royal rant in a recent television interview. The Sister Act star was discussing Harry and Meghan’s controversial Oprah interview with US television personality Meghan McCain in December last year. During the chat on The View, Ms McCain ranted: “Monarchies are stupid, the American experiment is the way to go.

“And if we have two American women, Meghan Markle and Oprah Winfrey, who have single-handedly finished what George Washington and our revolutionary counterparts did, I’m all for it.” Ms Goldberg furrowed her brows and appeared exasperated as Ms McCain spoke. She shut down her guest mid-rant with a simple “okay, before leaving a few seconds of cold silence. Watch Star Trek: Picard, starring Ms Goldberg, from today on Paramount+.
